About the role

At Data4Green, we use smart data to simplify ESG challenges and help businesses decarbonize, stay compliant, and remain profitable. As a Field Energy Engineer, you'll be our eyes and ears on the ground. You'll visit client buildings, assess their technical installations (HVAC, boilers, meters, BMS, connectivity, ...), translate what you find into our database, and identify quick wins and optimisation opportunities, all with a pragmatic, hands-on mindset. You'll work closely with both our clients and our internal data team to make sure every building we onboard is accurate, complete, and ready for analysis.

What about you :

  • You're a field person, you're at your best when you're on-site, not behind a desk.
  • You can read a building: HVAC systems, heat pumps, boilers, meters, BMS, connectivity setups, you know what you're looking at.
  • You spot optimisation opportunities just by walking through a technical room.
  • You're rigorous enough to translate what you see into clean, structured data.
  • You communicate well with facility managers, technical teams, and internal colleagues alike.
  • You're autonomous, organised, and comfortable managing your own schedule between visits.

Job Requirements :

  • Degree in Energy, Electromechanics, Building Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • More than 3 years of hands-on experience with building installations (HVAC, BMS, metering, connectivity).
  • Solid understanding of energy systems and building performance.
  • Ability to configure and connect technical equipment to external platforms or databases.
  • Experience producing clear technical reports and optimisation recommendations for clients.
  • Driving licence required (regular on-site visits).
  • Familiarity with ESG, energy auditing, or sustainability reporting is a strong plus.
  • Interest in data-driven tools and willingness to work within a digital platform environment.

What we offer :

  • A varied field role with real impact, every building you onboard helps a business decarbonize.
  • A collaborative environment with data engineers, ESG consultants, and sustainability experts.
  • Full flexibility, we're open to freelance arrangements for the right profile.
  • Autonomy to manage your visits and prioritise your work.
  • Competitive compensation aligned with your experience.
  • The opportunity to make a tangible difference on both building performance and the environment.
